Disgrees With Jury Award

The Ellerbe case

Once again, the men and women who arrive at work daily to serve and protect have been the victims (“Ellerbe’s family awarded $28 million,” March 12 and PghTrib.com).

I am appalled at the decision of a jury that found the two brave state troopers guilty in the Michael Ellerbe case.

The tragedy lies with the failure of young Mr. Ellerbe’s parents to function as parents. Why would a 12-year-old be riding in a stolen car on Christmas Eve? Continue reading
