Coroner says trooper committed suicide
HOLLIDAYSBURG — A newspaper says a coroner has concluded that a state trooper found shot dead in an unmarked police car in central Pennsylvania committed suicide.
The Altoona Mirror quotes Blair County Coroner Patty Ross as saying 42-year-old Cpl. Courtney Light, of Hollidaysburg, died of a gunshot wound to the neck. The coroner’s office did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.
Police earlier said no subjects were being sought in connection with his death.
The shooting was reported at about 7 a.m. Tuesday near a Route 99 offramp near Hollidaysburg.
State police say Light was a 17-year veteran and worked as an investigator for the Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards.
