John KasichReport: Kasich to Give Major Speech Thursday

CLAIRSVILLE — Published reports indicate Ohio Gov. John Kasich plans to give a major speech regarding his political future — and the future of the Republican Party — Thursday, in Washington, D.C.

The Republican governor is scheduled to speak at the American Enterprise Institute, a free-enterprise think tank in Washington, D.C., according to both the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Columbus Dispatch. Neither report indicated whether Kasich would announce his intentions for the 2020 political cycle.

Kasich finished fourth in the Republican presidential primary this year, with Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., gaining more delegates. He is term-limited as Ohio governor, having been elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.

Kasich also refused to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this year, citing his differences with Trump.
