Son of US federal judge killed by gunman dressed as delivery worker
Daniel Anderl, 20-year-old son of Esther Salas, shot by man who reportedly posed as FedEx employee
A gunman killed the 20-year-old son of a federal judge as he answered the door of the family home on Sunday in New Jersey, and shot and wounded the judge’s husband before fleeing, according to judiciary officials.
The incident occurred at the North Brunswick home of the US district judge Esther Salas, and killed her son, Daniel, said the chief district judge, Freda Wolfson. Salas’s husband, the defence lawyer Mark Anderl, was injured in the attack, Wolfson said.
Salas was in the basement at the time and was not injured, according to a judiciary official who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The perpetrator, believed to be a lone gunman posing as a FedEx delivery worker, was not in custody, the official said.
