KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oct 12, 2020
The president of the Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police is speaking out after what he says is a threatening message from a protester.
The video was recorded outside of police headquarters during a protest Friday night. The police union shared it online, saying the protester’s words crossed a line.
After 19 weeks of protests, words from Stacy Shaw in the video troubled the Kansas City Police Union.
“You don’t think that we know where all of y’all live? You don’t think we don’t know where your children go to school?” Shaw is heard saying in the video.
FOP president Brad Lemon posted the video online, reminding officers to be aware of their surroundings and potential threats.
“What doesn’t need to happen though when they put on their uniform and they go to work is that they have to worry about their spouse and they have to worry about their children. That’s off limits,” Lemon said.
