NY state trooper lover of Cuomo's daughter says he was 'voluntold' to be reassigned

A New York State Trooper assigned to former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s security detail says he was banished to the Canadian border after having a relationship with one of Cuomo’s daughters, and revealed in a new report how the process left him feeling ‘defeated.’ State Trooper Dane Pfeiffer, 37, said it was not his idea to be reassigned nor did he volunteer to be transferred from his post to Plattsburgh, a city in upstate New York, far away from his lover Cara Kennedy-Cuomo, 27, who was staying in the governor’s mansion at the time due to the pandemic. ‘On paper I volunteered, but no, I don’t want to go up there, never want to go there again,’ Pfeiffer said, according to a 32-page report released Friday by the New York Office of the Inspector General. In the report, Pfeiffer said he was ‘voluntold’ to seek a transfer from Cuomo’s security detail, which ultimately resulted in a two-hour commute to and from his new workplace. The report revealed that Pfeiffer initially tried to be transferred closer to his original post in the governor’s mansion, but that was shut down, with the higher-ups telling him he was ‘expected’ to take a position outside of the Albany region. The process left him ‘pretty heavily defeated,’ according to the report, which detailed an experience that included a ‘pat down’ from another trooper when he arrived to give a ‘compelled statement’ about his relationship with the governor’s daughter. Pfeiffer was unarmed and wearing shorts at the time, it was reported
