Two Connecticut police officers were killed and another critically wounded when they were shot in Bristol Wednesday night after being lured to a residence on a bogus domestic violence call, authorities said.
Bristol Police Sgt. Dustin Demonte, 35, and Officer Alex Hamzy, 34, were ambushed responding to a residence on Redstone Hill Road shortly before 11 p.m., state police said Thursday.
It’s bad enough that border security under Mayorkas is a shambolic clown car, with more than 200,000 people crossing the southwest border in August alone — that’s just bad policy. But to knowingly lie about his agents, smearing them? That’s unforgivable.
As cynical and sinister as the secretary’s actions were, there is something deeper here than mere mendacity and political avarice. This defamation of innocent border agents is another example of the havoc wrought by our society’s unhealthy and debilitating obsession with race and identity. The Brigham Young University volleyball hoax, the NASCAR noose hoax, the Jussie Smollett hoax and the border-agents-whipping-migrants hoax: Time and again we’re outraged over fake racism, facts be damned. It has to stop.
Unfortunately for the men and women who serve under Mayorkas, he cares more about scoring woke progressive points and kowtowing to a Biden administration that lives to sow racial division than he does about his agents or his country. This is an alternate reality in which the border is actually secure and there is no crisis except for menacing racists on horseback…
We also know that a gleeful news media that ran with this fake story will be in no rush to inform their audiences that it was a bag of nonsense.
Mayorkas flat-out lied. Just two hours after being informed the very photographer who captured the viral Sept. 19, 2021, pictures of mounted Border Patrol officers confronting Haitian migrants said no whipping occurred, he declared: “Our nation saw horrifying images that do not reflect who we are. We know that those images painfully conjured up the worst elements of our nation’s ongoing battle against systemic racism.”
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has to go. In a bombshell revelation, the Heritage Foundation obtained emails showing his own staff told him last year that reports of border agents whipping migrants near Del Rio, Texas, were false — before he went to the White House and publicly smeared his own agents as racists anyway.
Riots? What riots? Insurrection in American cities in 2020? Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.Riots? What riots? Insurrection in American cities in 2020? Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
Law enforcement officials arrested and charged then-19 year-old Victor Sanchez-Santa in federal court with arson charges in June 2020, shortly after he allegedly ignited a fire that burned an NYPD vehicle during the aftermath of the George Floyd riots.
Although arson carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum 20-year sentence, Biden’s DOJ tossed out the case in November 2021.
The Secretary of State in Pennsylvania has responsibility for overseeing the integrity of the electoral process. Or, at least that used to be the case. Now it appears that the job of the Secretary of State is to ensure that the Democratic Party takes control of all aspects of state government and to manipulate the electoral apparatus as much as necessary to make sure that happens.
The high court’s action means that the 3rd Circuit ruling cannot be used as a precedent in the three states covered by this regional federal appellate court – Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware – to allow the counting of ballots with minor flaws such as the voter failing to fill in the date.
…on Tuesday morning, acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman said she had just been informed of the ruling and that “we’re reviewing that decision and we’ll provide guidance to counties accordingly.” Chapman works in the administration of Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat.
The Supreme Court erased Tuesday a lower court ruling that had allowed the counting of undated mail-in ballots in a local Pennsylvania election.
The state’s highest court had permitted the undated ballots to be counted in 2020 when mail-in balloting surged due to the pandemic, but the justices signaled the court would not allow the change in future elections.
The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday sided with an unsuccessful Republican candidate for a judgeship in Pennsylvania and threw out a lower court’s ruling that had allowed the counting of mail-in ballots in the race that he had sought to exclude because voters neglected to write the date on them.
The justices vacated the ruling by the Philadelphia-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals as requested by David Ritter, who lost his 2021 bid for a spot on the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas to a Democratic rival by five votes after 257 absentee ballots without date notations were counted.
…
Ritter told the Supreme Court that unless the 3rd Circuit ruling was wiped off the books, it would allow undated mail-in ballots to be counted in future elections in Pennsylvania and would “threaten to invalidate countless regulations of mail-in voting” nationwide. Pennsylvania Republican legislators echoed Ritter’s warning.
